Aula Parlamentaria

The Parliamentary Classroom is a space of the Auxiliary Offices to promote knowledge about the Cuban political system in general and the functions of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State and strengthen the link with the community in the exercise of popular democracy participatory.

It joins the work carried out by the supreme body of State power in order to raise the legal culture and knowledge of the country's political system, especially among Cuban youth, and make the work of Parliament visible.

It is coordinated by the Independent Department of Library and Documentation of the Auxiliary Offices, but the Communication, Staff, Legal Directorates and the Office of the City Historian also participate in the process.

It is established through an agreement with the training entities and the national education system. It is governed by internal regulations. The initiative has spread to other provinces and municipalities in the country.

It is established by prior coordination with the entities involved.

Modalities
  • Circle of Interest: for primary education, on the political system and the work of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State.
  • Museum classroom: for secondary education, the classroom for classes of the agreed schools is offered, to encourage responsibility in the care of museum assets.
  • Conferences: for pre-university students, university students and workers who request it; on the Cuban political system and the work of the National Assembly of People's Power.
  • Workshops: Emphasis will be placed on problem solving, training; and requires the participation of assistants.
  • Courses: training and advice on content related to the interests of users, promoting legislative issues.
Objectives
  1. Raise knowledge about the Cuban political system, in the different ethnic groups that make up Cuban society.
  2. Bring the community closer to the action of the National Assembly, the Council of State, its deputies and Permanent Work Commissions.
  3. Promote notions about legislative work and its importance in raising legal culture.
  4. Contribute to the training processes of workers, officials and parliamentarians, as well as favor and professional training of the legislators themselves.
  5. Strengthening of values, culture and our history, its preservation and heritage values.
