
Deputy Yolanda Ferrer Gómez, president of the International Relations Commission of the National Assembly of People's Power, participated - via videoconference - in the semi-face-to-face meeting of the Board of Directors of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino), held from its Permanent Headquarters in Panama with the aim of monitoring the situation of the countries of the region in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Representing the President of the Cuban legislature, Esteban Lazo Hernández, in his capacity as vice president of said Board of Directors; Ferrer Gómez highlighted the efforts of our nation in the prevention and confrontation of the new coronavirus, as well as the satisfaction of having three vaccines and two own vaccine candidates against the pandemic.
In the session, which was chaired by the president of the parliamentary body, Senator Jorge Pizarro Soto, the Board of Directors empowered the Board of Directors to define the date of the XXXVI Ordinary Assembly of the body scheduled for the beginning of next year, from according to the Parlatino website.
Meanwhile, in the meeting of the Board of Directors of Parlatino, the Cuban deputy, Rolando González Patricio, secretary of Commissions of this regional body, participated in person.
